VisionSafe

VisionSafe makes EVAS, the Emergency Vision Assurance System, which lets pilots see through blinding smoke in the cockpit. I’ve been the company’s long-term design partner across its website, apps, email and print.

A website that leads with the evidence

I redesigned the VisionSafe website. The home page opens on a map of aircraft over the United States, coloured by whether they are protected by EVAS, and follows it with the numbers behind the argument: most domestic cargo freighters and thousands of corporate aircraft carry the system, while fewer than 1% of commercial aircraft do.

Two apps for showing and teaching EVAS

I designed and built a mobile app the VisionSafe team uses to demo EVAS.

I also designed a pilot training app, which VisionSafe resells to customers flying aircraft equipped with the system.

Email and print

I create all of VisionSafe’s marketing emails, alongside print pieces like this EVAS overview. It labels what the system does around a photo of it in use: restoring vision in under a minute, filtering and displacing smoke, and running on its own power supply.
